Frequently asked questions

What to serve with this salad

This Avocado Mango Salad is a family favorite. It pairs well with practically everything and is particularly kid-friendly. We offer it alongside grilled or even raw meals. Whenever we get together for a BBQ, I always serve it. For grilled meats to serve with the recipe, I suggest grilling chicken, fish, shrimp, or even steaks. It also goes nicely with other sides like white rice or fries that you might offer with your proteins.

How do I know when a Mango is ripe?

To determine ripeness, gently squeeze. When a mango is ripe, it will flex a little, revealing soft flesh inside. Utilize your knowledge of ripening fruits and vegetables, such as peaches and avocados, which also get softer. Mangoes that are ripe are golden in color and occasionally have a pleasant aroma at the ends of their stems.

Can I make this salad ahead of time?

Given that avocadoes do change color over a short period of time, it is preferable to serve this recipe immediately. Without the avocados, you can prepare all the ingredients in advance; just before serving, add the avocados. Any leftovers can be kept in the refrigerator in an airtight container.
