Shrimp Avocado Salad

Shrimp Avocado Salad is made with only a few basic ingredients and a tangy lime olive oil dressing for a flavorful freshness!

Shrimp Avocado Salad
I believe you're going to adore this shrimp avocado salad if you're seeking for a high protein, high fat sort of salad that is still packed with tons of benefits. It has extremely light and fresh flavors that are ideal for a picnic or BBQ, so I normally cook it in the summer. But it's effective year-round, especially for people seeking for recipes that are low in carbs or ketogenic.

INGREDIENTS

Shrimp Avocado Salad
  • 1 pound large shrimp thawed
  • 2 cups shredded lettuce
  • ¼ red onion diced
  • 2 avocados sliced
  • 1 tablespoon chopped cilantro

Dressing

  • 3 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons lime juice
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon fresh cracked pepper

HOW TO MAKE SHRIMP AVOCADO SALAD

Shrimp Avocado Salad
  1. Bring water in a big pot to a boil. Heat is reduced to medium. On top of the saucepan of water, put the shrimp in a mesh strainer or steamer insert and cover with a lid. It takes 4-6 minutes to steam shrimp until they curl and turn brilliant pink. Remove, then put somewhere to cool
  2. Use a bowl big enough to fit all the salad ingredients when preparing the dressing. Olive oil, lime juice, cumin, salt, and pepper are combined and whisked until emulsified.
  3. Add the shrimp that have been steaming to the dressing. In the bowl with the dressing, add the red onions and lettuce shreds. Wrap the shrimp in the avocado slices, then add some fresh cilantro as a garnish.
  4. Serve refrigerated or at room temperature.

TIPS TO MAKE SHRIMP AVOCADO SALAD

Shrimp Avocado Salad
  • Use avocados that are ripe but firm. When you press the avocado, it should give somewhat but not softly. If it is overripe, it will be challenging to cut, and if it is underripe, it will be challenging to peel.
  • By purchasing already-cooked shrimp, you can prepare this dish faster. It can also be made using fresh, non-frozen shrimp.
  • Red onion, cut into little bits. The other components may be overpowered if the chunks are too big. You can use green onions instead of red onions if you don't like them.
