There is no need to soak for the night or simmer for a long time. But I can assure you that the flavor is plentiful!

To prepare these Cajun white beans, you will need the following ingredients:
  • 2 bags Success Rice Boil-in-Bag White Rice
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 1 yellow onion, diced
  • 2 celery stalks, diced
  • 1 green bell pepper, diced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 15-ounce cans white beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1/2 cup water or vegetable broth
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 teaspoon ground paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground thyme
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cayenne pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt, plus more to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper, plus more to taste
  • Fresh parsley, for garnish

How to Make this White Beans and Rice Recipe


Dry beans are typically used to make Cajun white beans. The beans must first soak for the entire night. Then, the following day, you would sauté your vegetables for a longer period of time than you might expect, add your beans, and simmer for a number of hours.

Thankfully, you can consume the genuine flavors of Cajun white beans and rice in just 30 minutes with this recipe for white beans and rice!
  1. Success Rice should be prepared as directed on the packaging. In about ten minutes, it will be finished!
  2. your vegetables in a sauté. Start by browning your onion for 8 to 10 minutes. Then, add the pepper and celery, and simmer for an additional 5–7 minutes before adding the garlic and cooking for an additional minute.
  3. Add the spices, broth, and beans. The mixture should be brought to a boil, then simmer for 15 minutes with the heat reduced to low.
  4. Serve beans with a parsley garnish over rice.

How to Cook Make Pressure Cooker White Beans

You can absolutely make these Cajun white beans in a pressure cooker if you already have a package of dry beans stashed away in your pantry. This is how you do it:
  • First, instead of canned beans, use 1/2 pound of dried Great northern or cannellini beans.
  • Add three cups of liquid (water or vegetable broth).
  • Start the dish by sautéing the vegetables in the pressure cooker in step #2.
  • The pressure cooker should then be filled with the remaining ingredients and set for 30 minutes on high.
